Light Fury or Abyss Walker ?
I will only talk about the difference in raids since you can run normal nests and dungeons with pretty much any kind of lineup, especially if you and your party is experienced.
For unexperienced nest-parties a LF is obviously the better choice tho (it can even replace Priest).
I think the difference between those two should be pretty obvious:
Light Fury - way better support
Abyss Walker - slightly better damage capability
In raids, Light Fury is definitely the better choice.
If you would be to replace the Light Fury with an Abyss Walker, he would end up playing like a Light Fury would do (just because there is no way an Abyss Walker could outdamage a HoC-boosted party) at the cost of a extremely strong and party-wide burst-heal (Chakra of Mircale), a easier to apply damage buff (Sunshine Spark) and the missing -50% damage reduction of HoC EX, aka less efficient.
And all that just for a little more dark atk. from Incarnation of Darkness.
Yes, Abyss Walker could potentially outdamage the Light Fury but in reality he won't most of the time simply because he's bound to HoC as much as the LF would do (which is pretty important in raids and should definitely be done at least at the beginning of important burst and dps windows before you attempt to DPS yourself) and the damage difference between them isn't huge in general either.
I'm not aware of the frequency of deadly cure-able debuffs in BDN and whether freeze/timestop-kinds of debuffs exist in there, but if there aren't deadly cure-able debuffs that debuff you faster than every 10seconds and if there's no freeze/timestop-kind of debuff in BDN, a Light Fury could definitely replace a Priest in BDN (and other raids), even more so in experienced parties where people know how to dodge most of the stuff. Other than that LF-PRIEST is really strong support-combination for raids and they work pretty well together!
That definitely doesn't mean that an Abyss Walker is not a strong pick for raid parties tho.
He's still a really powerful DPS class and if there's already a Light Fury in the party he's definitely a good choice aswell. You just have to consider that he's then fighting for a DPS not support-semidps slot.
For dark parties (especially experienced dark parties): as long as you have a priest already, an Abyss Walker will definitely be a good choice aswell since he'll boost the dark atk. of the entire party further than a LF could do.
